Season 5 Episode 6. Reposting our lovely director, Eva Vives description and heartbreaking story below. I am lucky to only be acting this story- I know Esther’s pain and suffering is a reality for so many.

How great is Episode 506 of @handmaidsonhulu??? An embarrassment of riches for this grateful director. So many incredible scenes, moments, shots, lines and actors. I’ll try to do at least some of them some justice in the next couple of days. SPOILERS AHEAD. I had ONE scene with @mckennagraceful but I remember reading it and being stunned. Screenwriter @kthunder5000 wrote it so perfectly. From Lydia’s initial victim shaming to Esther’s power in being able to tell the truth out loud and call Aunt Lydia’s (and by extension Gilead’s) hypocrisy. Esther righteousness is undeniable and Lydia recognizes it as such. It’s a real turning point for her though she can’t bring herself to help Esther in the moment. I remember when we first talked about the scene, McKenna telling me she felt anger and me saying: “Let it rip. Rage for all of us.” And boy did she. Being tied to a bed, unable to move and raging is what it feels like. I was a few years younger than Esther when I was raped, so a scene like this hits home. I wanted to do it justice for all the survivors out there. Also, anyone who can hold their own with Ann Dowd is alright with me. Thank you @mckennagraceful. And as always thank you to @nicdaleydp for shots like this one and to @whallam for her masterful and nuanced editing. #representationmatters #believesurvivors #handmaidstale

Spider and Jessie is one of the most mentally and physically challenging films I’ve done. I am so proud of our cast and crew…lots of heart, sweat, tears, bruises, blood and love. This one is so special🕷

So excited to be a part of this week’s episode of @americangirlbrand ‘The Smart Girl’s Podcast’ co-hosted and produced by someone who has taught me a lot about friendship @shayrudolph
I’ll be honest, I was texting Shay 30 min before afraid that I wouldn’t know what to say. I’m still growing and learning a lot, especially about relationships! but I actually learned a lot myself 🙂
I am so proud of you Shay! Thank you and @imjessweiner for having me💗You can listen to the whole podcast on Apple, Spotify, iHeart or anywhere you get your podcast.

The date is August 10, 1976, and Jan’s story just got a little more complicated. You can now watch episode 7 of #AFriendofTheFamily, streaming only on @peacocktv
I’m so excited to finally share #AFriendofTheFamily, based on the unbelievable true story of Jan Broberg. You can watch the first four episodes on @peacocktv now, with the incredibly talented (and my very 1st younger version!) @hendrixyancey playing Jan. I join the cast starting next Thursday, with 1 new episode dropping every week.
