Molly Ephraim Instagram – black lives matter. black trans lives matter. black queer lives matter. black lives matter. using this “blackout” during pride to donate to organizations supporting and protecting LGBTQ POC… i know it’s not a black square but i’ll be quiet… and listening, educating myself, humbling myself, holding myself accountable as a white ally.
for a spiritual/visual break, (necessary at times to recharge the soul these days) i suggest checking out #blackbirdersweek and #blackinnature — inspired by the extremely rad Christian Cooper. it’s a small reminder that even the things I can casually enjoy and find most beautiful in their simplicity— walks in nature, watching birds— these aren’t spaces where POC often feel comfortable or seen. (lest a white lady lies and calls the cops on them.) i want to find my own small ways to help, so DM me if you know of cool organizations to check out and explore! i love birds and i love the people that love birds! ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿🕊 last thought: the sunset over LA last night was one of the most beautiful i’ve ever witnessed here, even with the sounds of sirens and helicopters everywhere. the black community deserves to be angry. we must be angry on their behalf. and i’m angry at a world that doesn’t allow people like george floyd or tony mcdade to see sunsets like that any more. | Posted on 02/Jun/2020 21:53:40
