LEARN ME
I need to learn me
This woman I see in the mirror
She stands differently
She speaks differently
She smiles differently
I like what I see
Because I’m taking the time out to learn me
To accept me
To grow and change and become the woman I’m destined to be
My heart and arms are open
I want you to learn me
This new me
This grown me
When I got to New York I started writing poetry again. This is a snippet of what I wrote at the beginning of the trip.
Then the beautiful @robhimages captured this image where I started to truly and authenticity embody what I wrote.
I highly recommend being on your own and sitting with yourself.
You can learn so much about you.
It can be uncomfortable yet so fulfilling.
Always love working with the amazing @robhimages 📸

“[Language is] being spoken through the paintings that you see. It’s being spoken through the music. It’s being spoken through the landscape. It’s Arrernte people telling their own stories. Just being on Country, that’s language too. Language is not always just spoken.” – Rärriwuy Hick
