Fiann Smithwick Instagram – One of the smallest ichthyosaurs I’ve found on the Jurassic Coast. This one would have been very young when it died.

Ichthyosaurs gave birth to live young and had multiple offspring each time. From the number of juvenile fossils I’ve found, it seems that they had a high infant mortality rate. Either that or I’m no good at finding the big ones!
