John Cleese Instagram – My favourite Fawlty Towers moment, in honor of the show’s 47th Anniversary this week. At the end of the Duck episode, Basil finally presents the covered dish to the diners, lifts the lid off, realises it’s not the duck, puts the lid on immediately….then takes it off again and searches in the mousse, in case the duck is somewhere inside. I can’t remember whether this was in the original script, or whether we invented it on the night, but I love Basil’s refusal to give up even when things are not looking promising. #fawltytowers #comedyscene #classictv #basilfawlty
