Laura Haddock Instagram – Starry starry night celebrating the most brilliant women at @bazaaruk Women of the year awards. I’ve let that evening soak into my skin over the last few days. It was truly a privilege to sit in that room and listen to their stories. I went in to that evening with a sneaky dose of anxiety about something I’d been procrastinating over earlier that day. As the minutes moved on and yet another remarkable women took to stage my anxiety started to disappear and clarity with a steady dose of awe took hold. Being in a room of strong, creative, compassionate women I started to relax, regained focus, strength (which was always there 😂) but being shadowed by worry. Being a woman, for me, means I am so in tune with my bodies emotional responses. I know my cycle inside out and can name a day when I’ll be feeling a certain way. I’m curious and some may say obsessed with our hormonal cycle and how that impacts our daily lives. I knew If I harnessed that understanding and used it pro actively I could manage my months with a new found ease and let’s be honest a whole bag of forgiveness. When we feel strong watch us fly, when we feel soft watch us nurture. Both sides to us a gift. What I learnt that night though is mood really can be shifted. It was infectious and I couldn’t help but feel part of something so big and powerful. Confirmation of my second obsession. Women.
