She was arrested by Iranian government authorities for improper wearing of the hijab. She has died after being tortured into a coma by Iranian authorities. Torturing anyone is always unacceptable, but to torture this poor young woman for not wearing a head covering properly is horrific. In response to her murder, her mother said, “Let the world know they killed my daughter.” Authoritarian leaders hope people get distracted and move on.
