Pallavi Sharda Instagram – As an artist, a storyteller, an Indian-Australian, and a child of the diaspora there is perhaps nothing more seminal to what I do than inter-cultural exchange. The sharing of cultures in the hope of dissolving boundaries.

It felt poignant therefore, that a week ago on the night of Diwali, I was able to wish His Excellency the President of Ecuador @guillermolasso and the First Lady Happy Diwali in real time, and talk about its significance in the Vedic calendar as a celebration of light’s triumph over darkness.

It was even more poignant perhaps, as we embarked upon a collective mission to shed light on the work of the @charlesdarwinfoundation and that of so many groups and individuals working tirelessly in the field of environmental conservation – to protect Mother Earth and her communities against capitalism and its various pollutants.

Thank you to the Honourable Minister for Environment @gustavomanriquemiranda for your rousing speech on Ecuador’s role as a global leader in sustainability and to the Honourable Minister for Tourism @nielsolsen for so warmly opening up the waterways to the beautiful archipelago that is the Galápagos Islands. 💙
