When I saw this outfit created by @reconstruct.collective for their Amsterdam Pride collection, @shortyandmercy and I came up with the idea to go and see a @psv match in this outfit.
The stadium is a place where a great level of unity is formed through the love of sports. However, not everyone feels the freedom to fully and/or safely be themselves in these spaces, and can feel like they have to hide certain parts of who they are in order to be seen as a belonging member.
My intention going into this was 1 simple word: HEALING. Healing for those who feel they don’t belong in this space, Healing for those who feel that others don’t belong. And perhaps some healing for myself, to learn that I can allow myself to feel safe by trusting that I am. To connect in new way with a few of my family members who have enjoyed football for as long as I can remember. Thank you for allowing me in your church and making me feel seen and safe. It means so much more than you can imagine. 🤍
