Colin O’Brady Instagram – I HAD NO MONEY. I needed $500,000. I had a dream that I was passionate about : my first global expedition – to break the world record for the Explorer’s Grand Slam – but I no resources and no idea how to get there. Can you relate to this feeling? THIS IS THE MOMENT WHERE MOST DREAMS GO TO DIE. My wife Jenna and I also wanted to start a non-profit to impact school kids in the process. We had no idea how to raise half a million dollars or how to start a nonprofit, but we googled everything. We started taking step after step, reaching out to people, pitching our vision. Over the course of 18 months we had hundreds of doors slammed in our faces. Rejection after rejection. But I clung to this positivity I held within. I felt doubt and defeat, but deep down I also knew I had the potential to figure it out. One month before it was time to leave for the expedition, I was still hundreds of thousands of dollars short. It was not looking good. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO NORMAL TO GIVE UP. If you’ve read my books you know how this ended. When I least expected it, someone took an interest and felt my passion when I shared what I was trying to achieve. After all of those doors slammed in my face, and hope was running out, I knocked on one more door and found the right person who believed in my dreams and helped turn it to reality. What it right now you are just one door away from unlocking your dreams? I wouldn’t be where I am today if I had given up, if I had told myself, “it wasn’t meant to be” or “I don’t have enough money”. Money and resources are abundant. Keep going.
