Colin O’Brady Instagram – One thing I’ve learned after a lifetime of pushing my body to its limits: the key to knowing when to press on is to trust my gut. When you know, you know. On K2, my gut told me “don’t go”, and that decision saved my life. In Antarctica (on the Impossible First crossing), when I was almost two months into the journey and 77 miles from the finish, my gut was telling me “Go, don’t stop”. I had been pulling my sled for 12 hours a day and setting up my tent each night, but in that moment I felt so dialed in and connected that I knew I could push on straight to the finish without stopping. 32 hours and 77 miles later, I reached the end. When I made the decision to press on, I was at my weakest point of the journey, physically. But my mind was at its strongest.
