Haleiwa is always a special event for me, whatever the result is. I’ve been competing here since I was a kid, having long beach days running in and out of heats. An event at home and at one of my favorite waves is such a great way to start the Winter season. This was my first event back since G-Land, felt good to be back in a jersey. I’m happy, healthy, and excited for the tour season ahead. Thank you to everyone who supports me, especially my family. Winning is the bonus on top of it all! Vela Sails • Part 2. I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of fine tuning every part of the boat during this trip. Especially with the sails. Relying on them to get from one point to another makes you obsess over them a bit haha. This might be too much information, but we thought it would be interesting to share a little more about how we’re getting around down here!!
@yeti called a few months ago saying they wanted to test a new product and needed a sample of water from Fiji. No one knew it at the time, but I happened to be on Vela packing up to sail to Fiji. They thought I was joking.
