Please see the comments for some additional thoughts! πŸ’œ* (First 5 book pages are from the first book, the rest are from the second book :)) Wow, 2 books AT ONE TIME????!!!! Shit is getting wild over here at #McGReads !!! What's next...um...like...THREEE books at once??? lol. Anyway. I read these books a few years ago and found them incredibly helpful for being able to understand more about myself and my needs. About 20-30% of the population are HSPs. As I caught up with an old friend from high school a few weeks ago, I was able to reflect to him based on some of the things that he was telling me that he was likely an HSP. He was so relieved that nothing was "wrong" with him and to hear more about what I'd learned about being and HSP and how this knowledge has helped me navigate being in the world. When you feel like you are overstimulated by things that are considered to be "normal" to most people (like certain smells, noises, sounds, textures, etc), it's easy to try and ignore our feelings, but that usually results in resentment long term. If you are an HSP and don't know it (as I didn't until a few years ago), these books will likely be really helpful. As with any other identity that does not belong to the dominant group, it's important to know how we have internalized these ideas that we "should be different" than we are. I'm finding great value in re-reading some of the passages that I put tabs in. Which is why I use tabs. ;) My Booklist: bit.ly/mcgreads (link in bio) #McGReads
