Robert Gant Instagram – I was sorry to see the news of Louise Fletcher‘s recent passing. I had the good fortune to play her son on a film many years ago. I remember being so excited to get to work with her, most known for her legendary and Oscar-winning portrayal of Nurse Ratched in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” She couldn’t have been more lovely. I especially recall her sharing stories in the make-up room, including some about Jack Nicholson. In one, she recounted a time he helped her when a group Oscar photo was being taken. She was off to the side amid other high-profile Oscar winners, somewhat lost in the shuffle, when Jack saw her, said “Come here, kid,” and pulled her smack into the middle of the pack. It was clearly a sweet memory for her. Rest in peace, Louise.
