Johnson Instagram – My dear sister Viola, There is controversy surrounding the #Dahomey tribe – it’s involvement in the trans Atlantic slave trade and it’s unimaginable female warriors… but what I am learning in my pilgrimage here in Africa- at the same time as #WomanKing premiers- is that our history as Africans runs deep and complex and no matter how different our understandings are, it is time for us all to do the work to heal. I am learning across the 6 African countries I’ve been blessed to partner with as a #bridgetobetter, that a big step in our healing as a culture is to approach the communication – with a spirit of TEACH ME? We MUST talk through our history of betrayal our perception of betrayal our pains of betrayal and you are a living walking breathing testimony of how to spark the needed conversations!
