“When I approach a character, I want to understand their most fragile part. Humans are so complex, and what you perceive is not always what’s going on inside. People protect themselves by trying not to be weak or sensitive. She’s so guarded and she’s fearful of being hurt or codependent on someone else. But I need the audience to feel compassion for her and finding vulnerability was important. I’m a very sensitive person and I wear my heart on my sleeve a lot more than Karla. I wanted to allow that side of Antonia to come out.”
