Barrett Wilbert Weed Instagram – I can’t even believe I’m writing this. Steph was the best of us. It’s hard to really explain how much we loved this girl. Authentic, generous, kind, hilarious…I don’t know anyone more loved. I’ve never seen a better dancer. I’ve never met someone who worked this hard, who dedicated their life to what they loved so diligently, who got every single reference so instantly…who never missed a beat. Cancer took so much from her, but it never took her spirit. Her sweet, quietly inappropriate, beautiful, hilarious, Moira Rose quote screaming, puzzle doing, face kicking, giant hearted spirit. She fought with everything she had because she was built that way. Her only gear was Give it ALL you got and babygirl DID. She fought her way to Broadway, fought her way back from brain cancer & surgery to get BACK on Broadway, and she fought for her life right up until the end. We are heartbroken, devastated, enraged, unwell, and just plain sad. I can’t believe she’s gone. I can’t believe she died this way. I can’t believe something so inhumane could happen to such a great girl who we really needed here with us. It makes no sense. It never will. And to try to make sense of this is just plain silly. What’s not silly is to do your damndest to enjoy your life. We never know how long we’ve got. Tell people you love them. Find something to enjoy every day. Do what brings you joy. Get a dip manicure and find the largest wine glass you can for our sweet girl. Make it red and make it large. Steph was the best of us. The very best of us. We love you so much, Steph. You lead by example, you inspired every day, there’s not a chance you’ll be forgotten. See you on the other side, my sweet girl.
