Dia Frampton Instagram – I had a talk with our producer yesterday. I told him that I had felt burnt out before, but now, I feel excited again. “I think I kinda stopped caring about this album, because… when I care, I care A LOT. And caring hurts. Caring about something can break your heart, and I’ve had my heart broken many times before.” If you start to love something and get excited about it and put all of you into it, it can let you down. So, for a minute there, I subconsciously decided not to care as a form of protection. I do this in my relationships. In my life. But, not caring also hurts. And it’s cowardly. And not to get too dark but, a teacher of mine used to talk about “Last time-ness.” Doing something as if it’s the last time you’ll ever get to do it. There’s poetry in that. The last time you get to act in a scene with your scene partner. The last time you kiss someone you love. The last time you get to drink a cup of your favorite coffee. The last time you’ll sing a song for someone. Or the last album you’ll get the opportunity to make. That sat with me. If this is my last time, what do I want to say? No, what do I need to say.
