Domee Shi Instagram – It breaks my heart to see the recent attacks on the Asian community, and the devastating toll the pandemic has had on Chinatown businesses. I made Bao to highlight the vibrant areas of Chinatown I grew up visiting: the bakeries, the grocery stores, and of course the people. Even though my family was from a completely different part of China, we still found comfort and familiarity (and amazing food) in Chinatown when we first immigrated to Canada.
