Elle Fanning Instagram – I first met Elle Fanning when she auditioned for ‘Ginger and Rosa’. She was just twelve years old and Ginger was supposed to be sixteen. I thought that surely would be too big an age jump, but as soon as I met Elle in LA and saw her play the scene she had learned by heart , I was convinced. In fact I adored her. The audition ended in mutually ecstatic hugs. She was thirteen when we came to shoot , professional, courageous and fun. Here, she sits on my lap between takes of a difficult, emotionally demanding scene and we laugh together, as we so often did. #gingerandrosa
