Kelly McCreary Instagram – Itā€™s impossible for me to celebrate this day without reflecting on where I was this time last year. Today, I had lunch at the scene of the crime: the restaurant where my amniotic sac broke, 12 weeks before my due date, sending me to the hospital for an extended stay, where I rang in my personal new year. On this day one year ago, I was possessed of an inexplicable yet powerful knowing that baby and I would be fine, but feeling impotent and unmoored, and frankly, depressed, nonetheless. My surprise zoom celebration filled my heart to bursting, lifting my spirits high enough to get me through that trial. This year, Babyā€™s gift to me was reaching up, locking eyes and saying ā€œMAMAā€ clear as day before throwing her arms around my legsā€” the first time she has used the syllables intentionally šŸ„°šŸ˜­. My thoughtful, loving, epic-gift giving husband gifted me with his megawatt smile, the comfort of his loving presence, and a trip to see Usher in Vegas šŸ™ŒšŸ¾. The gift of my motherā€™s visit nurtures both me and her grandbaby šŸ’™. And I have received messages from family and friends near and far, old and new, reminding me what a deep and loving community I have. šŸ™šŸ¾ Another trip around the sun. Ever more reasons to marvel at this thing called life. Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone. Iā€™m grateful to be here with you. šŸ„‚
