Nandita Das Instagram – Honoured and delighted to be the chief guest at the Laadli Awards Night. The work that the awardees have done was so inspiring. And the one and only @ijaising received the lifetime achievement award. I’ve grown up knowing and admiring her. Also the conversations on the sidelines made the evening special. Thank you @dollythakore @laadli_pf, @population_first and @unfpaindia for including me in celebrating so many amazing women. #laadliawards NCPA Mumbai
Nandita Das Instagram – Long gap but so what! The Uganda story needs to be completed. And it wouldn’t be without the last leg of the trip. Went to the source of the Nile. Magical to see the Lake Victoria and the whirlpool that gives birth to the Nile. Water separates water. My son explained to me the science behind it! Also saw the oldest bridge on the river and a #gandhi statue. According to his will, we were told, his ashes had to be immersed in the 3 longest rivers in the world. Nile being one of them.
And then finally we had restful last two days with the most loving Indian family there. Gentle, affectionate, lovers of nature, peacocks for sure and so were the people around them. We had the best Gujju food there! Came back with a lifetime of memories. Thank you #mehtas #uganda #lugazi
