Kathakali is a physically challenging art form. The costumes itself can weigh up to 12 kgs. The make up takes about 8 hours! Kalari soldiers used to perform Kathakali. It was Male dominated but now women do it too. It’s a Temple Art. And they perform at night. Sometimes there is no audience but the show goes on because the artists perform not for the audience but for God!
