As #COP15 nears a final decision in Montréal this week, the Global Biodiversity Framework must include conserving at least 30% of the ocean in high-quality protected areas that DO NOT ALLOW environmentally damaging activities. Anything less will not be enough to avert a biodiversity catastrophe. Governments must meet the moment. We owe it to the ocean, to the planet, and to future generations.
