I had the pleasure to meet the father of the incredible artist Charles Norton, who took his life at age 24 and left behind this incredible body of work “The Pippins” who represent his struggle with depression and symbolizes the two sides of life….. Tums up to the outside world and middle finger up behind his back in private. Each pippin challenges the internal conflict between the appearance of normality on the outside and turmoil on the inside. Its something that really spoke to me today and a strong message for the world to be left with before he made his journey to heaven.
