I panic.
I panic so easy,
And it gets rooted
Too deep.
My mind turns
To static, my hands
Tremble, my mouth
Can’t speak.
So I write.
I write like bats
Scream. Mapping
The world with
Their cries.
I write like soldiers
Digging trenches
Under mortared skies.
I write,
So I never
Have to feel
This way again.
And yet,
What I feel
Is the only ink
That works in
This pen.
