And the crowd goes wild… what a game! Congrats Messi & Argentina.
California is the true freedom state. “There is no soil better adapted” to liberty and opportunity – the sense of possibility – than right here. We offer reason for hope — and will continue to lead out loud and advance a far-reaching freedom agenda.

So proud of my wife, but so angry at how she and so many other victims who come forward are treated in our justice system. We must do more to protect survivors and ensure they are not retraumatized by the system that is meant to protect them.
Californians come together in moments of crisis. As we continue to weather these storms, take care of each other, take care of yourselves — together we’ll go, together we’ll get through this moment.
There’s the American dream and there’s the California dream. No other state is attached to a dream — and this year’s 11 California Hall of Fame inductees are that dream personified. Congratulations to Lynda Carter, Roy Choi, Steven Chu, Peggy Fleming, Arlie Russell Hochschild, Alonzo King, Los Tigres Del Norte, Barbara Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Linda Ronstadt, and Ed Ruscha.

P-22 was an icon and his incredible journey helped inspire a new era of urban conservation, like at the world’s largest wildlife crossing at Liberty Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains. My dad was a wildlife activist and founding member of the Wildlife Conservancy. He taught me about protecting these precious animals and I grew up loving these cats. I’m proud to continue the work he started — taking action to protect mountain lion populations and other wildlife so they too can thrive in the Golden State.

Grateful to all the emergency responders and crews working to keep Californians safe during these atmospheric rivers. These storms are serious – Californians should make necessary preparations and stay safe.

Happy New Year! Here’s to a happy and healthy 2023.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to love and the pursuit of justice. With people from all walks of life coming together to support their fellow Californians amid recent storms, we are reminded of the common humanity Dr. King underscored in his teachings, and the enduring truth that you don’t have to be somebody to do something. The incredible spirit of generosity and community on display across our state is a source of hope and resilience to all of us. Today, let us recommit ourselves to the pursuit of justice, the eradication of racism and poverty, and the promise of a more equal future.
At the border today. California has invested $1 billion to humanely support migrant communities and secure our border. We can’t do this alone. @potus has proposed real reform that would fix our broken immigration system—but Republicans in Congress need to engage in real solutions to challenges at our border and immigration system.
