Today, I am joining @sollishealth and their Warrior Campaign in an effort to create more space for honest conversations surrounding health. I wanted to highlight some stats I learned through my research. Did you know the maternal death rate for BIPOC women is 2.5 times higher than their caucasian counterparts? That one in five mothers suffer from postpartum depression during their pregnancy and or postpartum? And that over 65,000 women in the US yearly experience life threatening comorbidities related to pregnancy? The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate of industrialized nations— at a shocking 17.5 out of 100,000 births.
