Kirsten Ramsay Instagram – This salt glazed urn arrived in a dreadful condition having been damaged 25 years ago.
It languished in a cellar until it was rediscovered by Adam after the death of his father, John.
Each of the three elements had damage and there were signs of extensive previous restoration alongside the damage that occurred when a wall collapsed onto it.
The urn, one of a pair, held many happy memories of childhood visits for Adam, visiting Grandparents near Sheffield.
After extensive conservation, it can now once again be enjoyed and used by the family.
The story of this Urn and many others items feature in a new book, The Repair Shop, life in the barn.
The book also tells the backgrounds to many of the experts featured in the program and how they came to work in their chosen fields.
