I woke up today in complete awe that I get to be here. I never thought I would live this long. Growing up was so hard never knowing what we would have to survive the next day. I would look out of my window and wonder how life could ever be different. I couldn’t see a future. But I could dream. I wanted to be free. I wanted to see the world. I wanted go places I had only seen in books and dance with strangers on streets that didn’t speak languages I understood. I wanted to go to college. I wanted to be an actress. I wanted to fall in love and live romances like those in the movies and make friends all over the world. And I did. As I type this today tears of joy roll down my face. I see that I kept every promised I had made to myself when I was nine year old looking out the window wondering what was out there in the world. I AM OUT THERE IN THE WORLD. And I feel so so grateful. So if you see me today and I cry know that it’s because I am so happy to be out here in this world with you. And on this birthday as I feel the currents of my life change with this Lunar New Year, I make myself new promises I plan to keep. I want to build. I want to know what home feels like, I want to dance in cities I only saw in books with a dance partner, I want to build community, I want to start a family, I want to tell stories that will create impact with people I admire, I want to lift others up and if I have to leave them I will try my best to leave them better than I found them. And I can’t wait to do all that with you. Thank you. So very much. For your messages, for your calls, for your hugs and kisses, for your friendship, for your community, for your love. BABY, HOW YOU FEELING? When life starts to look too Instagram perfect it’s important for everyone’s mental health to keep it real. This has been such a year of transformation for me, of coming out of my 🐚. People say that I’m an extrovert and always so friendly and upbeat! Those things are true but I always kept my interactions superficial because I was scared to be truly seen. When I started working with @drtarimack I remember panicking when having to have tough conversations and saying “If I say that they will know everything!” She laughed and said “That’s the point!” I decided to redirect @incessantly_seeking_podcast to address these hard relationship issues and @drtarimack was my first guest. In one session the shift was so big I wanted to see where I could go. So I kept working with @drtarimack and I kept putting it all on the podcast. People then told me I was “putting all my stuff out there” and that was “brave”! Seriously, though! It was! It was brave, and scary and oh so FREEING! Having it all on the table means no hiding, no worrying, no fearing people will use my vulnerability against me. I’m self aware and I’m working on myself everyday. It feels great! Life is starting to look amazing BECAUSE I’m doing self-work. Find your own @drtarimack or go to mine! Honestly coaching and therapy is a self investment and the best money you will ever spend. I have been doing the 1:1 Elite coaching and The Single To Engaged Course and journaling and mediating Oh AND the Highest Path course AND… sometimes I prefer staying home and working on myself than going out.
