Oprah Winfrey Instagram – The relationship we have with our hairdresser is a sacred one. @nicolemangrumhair now takes care of my hair. She does it all, including separating each little curl. Andre Walker (@walkersimmonsdesign) had that responsibility for 30 years for The Oprah Winfrey Show. God bless him. There were others who helped along the way. My grandma braided my hair as a kid on her porch. Early in my career, Lydia Lively took me to her barbershop to chop off all my hair when a French perm damaged it. During the filming of Beloved, Peter Owen introduced me to the incredible world of natural wigs in order to preserve my own. All these people are a part of the journey that got my hair to be strong, resilient, and purposeful. My hair tribe.
