Caption : No one is where they are, just by chance or luck. It takes years of patience, perseverance, hardwork, intelligence, smartness, passion, and a host of such qualities to hone your skills with dedication and commitment to reach excellence. It was a pleasant surprise to be voicing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. There were more surprises:) The original pilot had her speaking perfect, proper Tamil. I was literally dumbfounded. Mind you, for most of us, who speak regular everyday Tamil, even simple sentences in chaste Tamil, can be challenging. And while recording such lines, for the diction, expression, delivery, everything to be spot on, it takes time. And here, Aishwarya Rai was rocking it! Next surprise. There was barely any one helping her with the lines during the take. Means, no one prompting. She had it all in her head. She had taken a whole lot of time, and like a good student, done her homework, properly. “Dubbing la paathukalam” is a common line during shoot in many, many places to just mouth your lines knowing well that some one else is doing your lines, so why bother. Not her, and definitely, not here. It is artists like her, who show the way, that no matter how high you reach, you don’t take anything for granted. And that every single detail matters. It has been absolutely wonderful to try and match her poise, tone and expression. It didn’t come easily but I thoroughly enjoyed the process. A big thank you to Director Dhanasekar, who patiently answered my endless questions during the dub sessions and Mani sir’s team, the sound engineer, Muthu. Mani sir, mikka nandri. Caption : What do I say about this? Going to crescent avenue and entering the studio of Madras Talkies is like going home. Warm, friendly faces and fun chats catching up with technicians and staff at the office. Except you don’t know what challenges are waiting for you when you enter the dub suite. But every time I leave this studio, overwhelmed and with a sense of fulfillment. Being part of films like Kannathil Muthamittaal, Guru, Cheliya ( Telugu version of Kaatru Veliyidai ), Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (tamil and telugu) and now, PS-1, has enriched me in more ways than I can think of. This is my first one, for the enchanting and deeply committed actor, Aishwarya Rai. I have more to share about her. But that has to be a seperate post. Caption : I can never be completely satisfied with my work. No matter what anyone says, I tend to keep digging for what could have been done better. But it isn’t always like that. There are times I’m happy with myself. Like last weekend😊 My “Voice artiste training workshop” happened over Saturday and Sunday. Happy to say that I have been able to communicate all that I had meticulously planned to convey, to the best of my capabilities, to this serious and extremely enthusiastic group of aspirants who dedicatedly sat through the long hours, surprised me with samples of their work and had very specific questions during our interactions. Caption : @devadarshnichetan you have simply rocked with Umayal!!!! Guess who watched your scenes on loop🙈😍😍 Have always been a huge fan of this fantastic actor, so why is Family Man S2 so special??? For several reasons I believe:)) Not just have the makers of this brilliant series, moved the narrative so far south and touched upon controversial issues that have raged for decades, but managed to do so without so much as a scratch on any particular region, community, language, people or person.. that’s simply brilliant.. kudos👏👏 Now, for Devi.. the manner in which she prepares to get into the skin of the role and look, walk, talk, react, the part is, simply thesis material. She shined all the way with her accent, demeanour, stunts (my, my..) and funny (not meant to be, but did have that effect) one liners here and there.. Achoooo, super duper proud of you, @devadarshnichetan!!!!!
