Aaron Kaufman Instagram – My brother @strangger98 sent me a surprise gift the other day. I am so thankful to have such a neat way to remember a great trip.
I’ll spin it real fast … my homie @damn_ron_ had this truck sent to him by another friend he then reached out to me. I was interested so I called the cat that owned it and made a deal.
I bought a sight unseen f350 now all we had to do was go get it. I forwent the typical trailer scenario and we got some plane tickets. Knowing this would a rolling circus I decided a fine photographer with an appetite for adventure was needed or boy @brandon_lajoie was down for some bad choices. As soon as we got to the airport it was on life support. We sent Brandon onto Sacramento with out us then found a plane to San Fran rented a mooostang at midnight and ripped to meet Brandon in the murder hotel we booked online. This hotel is what nightmares are made of!
No breakfast for us we were headed to Oroville, California.
The truck was as described but sadly it’s driveability was far from accurate. When I told the guy I was gonna drive it to Yosemite and asked if he thought it was a bad idea…. He said with out hesitation YES. He had no vision or sense of adventure. It took me 10 hours to get to orangevalle a 1.25 hour drive.
@norcalrockracing had lined me with @brianctilton shop to get this pig more road worthy. After a long night a long morning and a few tacos we were Yosemite bound. It’s as amazing as your imagination leads you to believe. We had friends in AZ to see so we pressed. Some road side machine work in Bakersfield some fuel pump work on the RES and a night sleeping in the bed had us within ear shot of the chandler, Az fire department where we would meet up with Ronnie and @big10garage before burning it down to Texas.
Charlie Brown is the trucks name and when I moved to Colorado I cut loose all my project cars save two
