Angelina Jolie Instagram – A collaborative exhibition just opened in Lagos, Nigeria, unveiling a major project honoring the Chibok girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram from their high school in Northern Nigeria in 2014 — many of whom are still missing. The project comprises 108 portraits in clay, modeled after the missing girls imaged in the style of iconic ancestral Ife heads.
Conceived by sculptor Prune Nourry @prune and undertaken in collaboration with the Department of Fine & Applied Arts of the Obafemi-Awolowo University in Ile-Ife and the families of the missing girls, this project aims to raise awareness about the plight of these girls while highlighting the global struggle for girls’ education.
A documentary movie about the project will be exhibited with the sculptures, providing insight into the perspectives of the collaborators, teachers, students, and families of the missing girls.
