Who would have thought that, a simple breakfast at a lonesome cafe in Rishikesh.. the day I was prepping to bid goodbye to my new year holiday n soaking in the wonderful yoga/sound healing retreat i had just finished in Rishikesh.. would turn into an onset of a totally new journey..
this boy who initially started speaking with me as an admirer of my work.. was to become the person who’d introduce me to the world of contact improv dance, arambol and a whole way of life, I dint know existed, so near to us..
He mentioned contact dance.. n that i should come to a 7 day festival in Goa and without thinking much i said yes..
I dint even research much.. saw some videos that I dint like honestly and knew this would be tough or even uncomfortable for me.. but still something told me that I needed to jump n see and it might be good…something I need.. what amuses me is that Siddharth could tell too..
The world of contact is awe inspiring, frustrating and ever expanding and exciting.. n thru sid n then contact, I discovered arambol.. the heaven for artists.. exciting ppl on a journey.. a way of life that teaches you to live!
N ofcrse as Siddharth fondly says.. main tera kaam chudwa doonga.. cause he keeps telling me about Kabir Yatras and what not.. all of which i keep jumping at.. but the real victory is in doing both and striking a balance! That’s my resolve!
I cannot thank you enough Siddharth.. for being my medium to this beautiful discovery! @sidkubavat 🤗🤗♥️♥️

Beatles ashram – hard to believe such a place exists in the heart of Rishikesh.. perfect adobe to get away and practise an alternative lifestyle.. Could only imagine what a heaven it would have been bustling with artistic and yogic energy in its hay days with the beatles and the various disciples..
amidst so many cramped yoga schools.. in our yoga capital this could be the perfect yoga school/ university.. in the middle of a forest!
I hope the government makes it into one and have people from all over the world come and learn in this place of sanctity and bliss.

Sound healing.. discovered this few days ago, one of the most potent practices to cleanse, remove blockages and heal internally.
And more than just this discovered two beautiful human beings @healingwithshri and @hit_yoga
Their simplicity, dedication to their craft and the knowledge each one of them has is awe-inspiring.
Came for their personal healing retreat and am going back today, fresher, happier, more relaxed and excited.. it’s been a beautiful and a very fulfilling journey.. I would personally suggest it to everyone looking to rejuvenate and discover themselves..
Sree sir, thank you for giving me such life skills and making me realise the importance of breathing techniques and of breathing right! Our conversations have been most intriguing and helpful.
Hitesh, thank you for making me fall in love with yoga again, i am constantly amazed by the depth of your knowledge and the simplicity with which you share it.

Shifali, a woman that I would aspire to be.. kind, strong, vivacious, an artist, a sinful cook (her desserts are to die for, in fact all kinds of cuisines) has a strong business acumen, is a loving wife and mother and a wonderful host. What a complete woman. And am so glad that I tried to sketch her beautiful face on the 1st day of the year. Of course, here too she guided and encouraged me.

Christopher and Shifali are by far the best hosts that I have ever met, make sure to stay at @thehimalayantrouthouse the next time you visit Tirthan valley, for a home away from home, a beautiful view and sumptuous food.
