Dia Mirza Instagram – I must have been 4 years old when Chaandmiyan started working with our family. It was his responsibility to take me to school and bring me back. His autorikshaw was my safe space. He had 4 daughters and my family trusted him with my care. I would often accompany him to the bazaar where he would let me help him pick fruits and vegetables from the cart. After they had been weighed and paid for he would let me plant them in the basket i would carry with me. This was our favourite activity together… He would regale me with stories of his daughters and my first performance to ‘mere hathon mein nau nau choodiyan hain’ was at his daughters wedding… so many memories are rushing back today as i heard the news of his passing on. He lived with a deep sense of loyalty and duty and cared so deeply for our family. I will always remember him with gratitude and love 🙏🏻🕊️🦋
