We are honoured to welcome @gordimusic back to Phoenix for a stunning solo set in Sydney’s most beautiful listening room, following her celebrated performances in support of Bon Iver around Australia. 🎟️ Enter the ticket ballot via the link in our bio 🤞 Successful ballot entrants will be notified on Wedneday 8 March 2023 The musical moniker of Australian singer-songwriter-producer, Sophie Payten, Gordi has quickly become one of the most cherished indie/folk songwriters, recognised for unique and progressive approach to her craft, while anchored to a deep connection with traditional song writing skills. Gordi’s connection with Phoenix runs deep, as one of the first musicians to play for the general public at the venue in 2021. A residency followed, Payten spent a week in The Nest finding solace and inspiration in the space where she would ultimately record Refracted: Live at Phoenix Central Park. Speaking to TheMusic, Gordi reflected on The Nest as a space that is “unlike anything I’ve ever seen or been in. When you’re in there, you feel like it’s a place that just demands excellence out of you.” In the same year, she was the subject of the Phoenix-commisioned digital content series SPACE | ACTION, capturing our imagination and stopping us in our tracks. Her return to Phoenix is in part a celebration of Sydney WorldPride, as well as a special opportunity for fans to listen to new material for the first time alongside music from Reservoir (2017), Our Two Skins (2020) and her recent EP Inhuman (2022). 📹: Gordi performing ‘Extraordinary Life’ , directed by @usversus.
