Katherine Heigl Instagram – Today I visited the State Capitol to speak in support of Senate Bill 108, sponsored by Sen. Mike McKell, which aims to prohibit the horrific practice of gas chamber euthanasia at animal shelters in my home state of Utah.
The sign of a civilized society is marked by how we treat the voiceless and the innocent, and we cannot allow this inhumane practice to continue. Unfortunately, Utah is one of only 3 states that still employs this antiquated and brutal method of killing animals, which causes unnecessary suffering and distress. This horrific process also costs taxpayers more than it does to euthanize humanely by injection.
