May the challenges strengthen us, increase our gratitude and compassion. May the shortcomings we see in others remind us of our own. May we be cognizant of the ancestors supporting our growth. May we over and over remember our own, and each other’s, humanity. And may we humbly, gratefully recognize and receive infinite blessings. We made it this far y’all. Here’s to applying all we’ve learned to a more courageous, just, prosperous, beautiful 2023. Happy New Year 🎆 With love, Parisa Video description: filtered multicolored fireworks in a night sky.

Parisa Fitz-Henley Instagram – I made this when I rented in the South. Now I own a little piece of land here and think of what wild things I can encourage the growth of. As Spring is coming fairly soon, consider finding out what ‘weeds’ you might be pulling that you should actually be putting in your salad — or straight into your mouth! My personal favorite of the latter are the chives that grow wild in so many places and can be mistaken for grass. Go to the supermarket, price chives (easily $3-$4 for a tiny amount) and see if you’ll ever mistake them for grass again. 😆 For real, in many places naturally growing greens are being chucked aside so folks can plant more kale and then worry about the weeds messing with it. Lol the weeds are sometimes more nutritious, tasty and they also happen to be FREE. Access to land and fresh food is a social justice issue, a mental and physical health issue, an environmental issue. It’s about our connection to the earth, our ancestors, each other and Self. Believe me, remembering that this planet is a place that offers gifts to everyone can be incredibly healing, even if the gifts aren’t yet noticed by or accessible to all of us. Knowing it reminds me that Mother Earth can have our backs when we let her and that there is sustenance and joy in having hers. 💚 If I get to be home when my yard starts to flourish I’ll try to post pics. Until then, do consider that as long as your soil is healthy (NYC can have high lead content and places all over can have pesticide or other contaminants) a lot of what is ‘stubbornly’ aka naturally, happily, robustly growing around you might be perfect on your plate. 🌱 ✨
Parisa Fitz-Henley Instagram – 23… an unfair trial. And over 475 protestors killed in the last few months… 💔

“These fruitless strifes, these ruinous wars shall pass away, and the ‘Most Great Peace’ shall come. Yet do we see your kings and rulers lavishing their treasures more freely on means for the destruction of the human race than on that which would conduce to the happiness of mankind. … These strifes and this bloodshed and discord must cease, and all men be as one kindred and one family. … Let not a man glory in this, that he loves his country; let him rather glory in this, that he loves [human] kind. …” – quoted by J. E. Esselmont in Baha’u’llah and the New Era, p. 39.
