If you have seen #Farzi you can’t forget this guy! Right?
Bhuvan and I met on our first day of the FTII selection workshop.. in 2008.
Once you saw Bhuvan, you couldn’t forget him.. so we became friendly. Mostly making fun of each other during the meagre breaks between 50 rounds of acting exercises each day, all day, for 4 days.
We both got through.
We became friends. Still making fun of each other.
He was one of the best in CLOWNING class. Had a natural goofy funny bone in him.
I remember a workshop in acting class, with both of us.. in bed, in the scene.. as the class of 20 along with the teacher watched the scene play out.. Bhuvan (with his ingenious choices) thought it would be completely ok, without anyone noticing, to take glycerine in his eyes to cry in the middle of the scene.
I, along with everyone in the room couldn’t believe what just happened. We laughed for months.
That’s the beauty of acting school that you can do shit & you laugh & learn from it. Bhuvan for one remembers everyone’s exercises with the minutest details.
We all.. learnt, laughed, cried, fought, had magical experiences, heartbreaks all together.. like you do in acting/film/art schools. But you also create a bond that surpasses time. Cause during this time, we also realised our love for the craft and the hunger to touch a few moments of Truth through the work we hope to do.
I have been waiting for Farzi.. for him. And I expected him to do a good job.
But last night when I saw the whole show, I came out engulfed by Firoz. He was so wholesome, and for me the Soul of the show. I thought Bhuvan ate the opportunity thrown at him, he grabbed it, worked bloody hard and came out there and knocked it out of the park!
I am ecstatic for him cause this would open numerous doors for him🤞.. but also.. that hunger that binds us all in a way.. is simmering up and he is raring to go! That’s the journey I am proud of.. for him.. for us.
And honestly there’s no greater joy than seeing your own people smash it! When one of us wins, we all win.
So here’s to all actors who have come before us, paved the way, made it a little easier.. and those who will come after us! ❤️💪🦋🍀
