Virginia Trioli Instagram – There’s a beach in there somewhere … Isn’t this the perfect New Years Day metaphor for all the hopeful starts of the last few years? An optimistic leap into the unclear and the unknown and then the mist gradually lifts. I’ve always loved the sense of absolution, of a “get out jail free” card of a new year: a chance to start again, a new blank page. Of course life and life’s choices don’t spin on the turn of one day, one calendar page, but it’s less arbitrary than that, isn’t it? We mark out our days in years, and our own personal evolution in decades so this 2023 is going to be momentous for those hoping to get out from under three pretty tough years, and those who are seeking change or even just a little less uncertainty. For me, I’m utterly uncertain about what’s behind this fog! And my 2023 challenge will be about making my peace with that uncertainty!
