When I got the 50K bonus in 2020 I went from food stamps to comfortable overnight. Living below the poverty line is no joke. It was shocking and impossible to process. 50K is life changing.
We’ve been comfortable and careful ever since. 50K is still life changing and I’m thankful that our short term needs are secure. That’s everything to me. #longlivethemonkeyking

Realized this morning that I just passed 41 thousand followers 😳
That’s crazy to me. I’ve never bought an ad or really tried to grow my fan base by following trends. I know that can sometimes be detrimental to my career! You don’t need to tell me 🤣
More followers looks good when you are negotiating a contract or getting sponsors.🤑

Hear me out though, I have the best fans in MMA. My vibe isn’t for everyone and our community is… unorthodox 😂 We’ve organically and collectively grown something special. It’s not the biggest fan base, it never will be. Yes, copying what other fighters are doing could lead to more success.
But why? I’m happy with what I have. I feel like I can be myself and that social media isn’t such a insidious thing in my life.
Will I continue to repell some people? Most definitely! And that’s okay 👍

If I could recommend one book to anyone that wants to make it in the fight game, it would be “Mastery” by Robert Greene.
This is the book I based my entire last fight camp on 🤓
Robert Greene insights into how to obtain mastery should inspire hope but most people will be discouraged by the message of this book. The reason you haven’t obtained mastery in your field is entire your fault and the only way to become a master is through hard work, focus, discipline. Robert Greene provides a thoughtful roadmap for the reader and uses historical examples to argue his point.
There are no short cuts.
I’m not there yet, but I will get there.
