Amanda Gorman Instagram – A few years ago I had the privilege of speaking at the 35th Annual Celebration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr hosted by the MLK Jr Westside Coalition. It was a great event with great people, and at 19 never did I imagine that a few years later I’d be reciting a poem for my country at a presidential inauguration while staring out at the same monument from which King spoke at the March on Washington. For this reason I was so touched to write the Foreword for a new edition of King’s “I Have a Dream” speech with @harpercollins . I firmly believe the echo of Dr. King’s work will always reverberate loud and clear. What’s more, one day, it won’t be just an echo, but an existence—not just a dream fiercely ringing, but a dream finally realized.💛🙏🏿Happy MLK day everyone! | Posted on 17/Jan/2023 02:11:32
