Dia Mirza Instagram – As Ambassador for both @wildlifetrustofindia and @ifawglobal I am fortunate to be a small part of the amazing work being done #ForPeopleForPlanet #ForNature 🌏

The @wildlifetrustofindia and @ifawglobal partnership has:

✓ For the first time in India, orphaned rhinos, elephants and black bears return to the wild after IFAW-WTI rescued and rehabilitated them. The first ever rehabilitated clouded leopards went back to the wild, WTI-IFAW with the Assam Forest Department has sent 29 Asian elephant and 23 rhinos back to the wild.

✓ The Bear rescue centre supported by IFAW and Arunachal Pradesh forest department has successfully released more than 40 bear cubs back to the wild.

✓ A network of emergency rehabilitators across India that is contributing to emergencies during kite flying, snake rescues during disasters and protecting Olive Ridley turtle hatchlings as they find their way to sea.

✓ Working with the Assam Forest Department, the Bodoland Terrtorial Council and Community Based Organisations, they brought back Manas from the UNESCO sites ‘In Danger’ list.

✓ India’s only accidental and ex gratia assurance scheme for more than 20,000 frontline forest staff, covering them against death or injury. Further, the next of kin of 181 frontline forest staff who we lost to the Covid pandemic were supported with an ex-gratia under IFAW-WTI Conservation heroes Covid Casualty Fund –

✓ Together, IFAW-WTI secured the first elephant corridor in India, ensuring safe passage for 1000 elephants; later, under the flagship ‘Right of Passage’ they brought 101 elephant corridors to the forefront of policy advocacy.

You can be a part of this amazing work by partnering, supporting and sharing their work 🐯🐘🌳💧#ForeverWild #WildForLife #SDGs #GlobalGoals
Dia Mirza Instagram – Thank you @kochibiennale @bosekrishmumbai for a stirring weekend. The art was varied and moving and witnessing people from all ages and walks of life engaging with art was so beautiful. Kochi Biennale is truly art for the people.

The ‘Art for activism’ caught my attention and moved me deeply. Thank you to all the artists who choose to move beyond the external and go inwards, questioning excess and colonisation, demanding land rights, human rights, gender equity and drawing attention to climate change. Hope to be back every year!

Thank you @tadtadkanya for making our experience wholesome and enriching.
