#internationalwomensday I want to lift up so many women and trans women and non binary friends and family not for the massive achievements, carpets, PBs, degrees that we typically can/do/should. But I want to celebrate them and say thank you for the things that no one will ever see but us on car talks, phone calls, long hikes, happy hours, rehearsal halls, boat rides, before action and after cut. You, my friends and family are magic. We have laughed together, sweat together, consoled one another, worked it out, been vulnerable, held space, taken big leaps, mentored, cried, joked, visited, and WITNESSED each other through it all … whether in windows or all the way back since childhood. And watched you through the ebb and flow of life, ride those waves messily, gracefully, but always keep on, through uncertainty, turmoil, your greatest joys, and your dreams yet to come to fruition. I was incredibly fortunate to start my year supporting @graciousmermaid in leading her first #soulfulfreedivingretreat with her company @saltwater.bodywork in #konahawaii 🧜🏽♀️ This group of amazing women/humans started 2023 off by diving deep into themselves and the water in the spirit of connection, embodiment, and reciprocity. I saw women who are often caretakers, take time for themselves to connect, laugh, share their wisdom, their stories, grow, and also be cared for. It was a wonderful reminder for me that pause, reflection, and awareness before movement, planning, or momentum can be so powerful. That a metaphorical (and non metaphorical) breath before the dive in to a project, the new year, work, a relationship, or the actual ocean, makes it that much more present and intentional. So as we all are hit with things from the world, our lives, and moving towards what is next, I encourage you friends, and myself, take small moments of pause to check in with your breath, feel the feelings, find your presence and intention…and then move from that place.
