The purpose of FEMcore is not only to bring more attention to Woman fronted bands and songwriter/musicians, but to also use the events as a reminder that the music community needs to better understand ways to support Women who are victims of sexual violence. FEMcore’s support of RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is crucial for progress across the country and is the largest program of it’s type. RAINN carries out programs to prevent sexual assault, help survivors and pursue justice through victim services, public education, public policy, and consulting services.
