Gouri Nair Instagram – Getting cheered by the entire hall when your name is announced and then awarded by the governor Mr. Ibrahim Bin Saed Al Busaidy, screaming and shouting in happiness when your favourite names from each country is called up on stage to receive their recognitions, Chief Jury announcing the results – Mr. Saad Elsamy for Best Film ‘The last two postmen’ from Iraq, Mr. Aballa ben for Best actor Anes Tenah in Halm El Raad from Algeria, and Ms. Milena Predic for best actress from yugoslavia for the film ‘A cross in the dessert’ , Writer Tareeq Zam Zam for Ashraf Mehdy from Egypt, Mr. Zakariya for Best Music for the film ‘Ayisha’ for Mr. M. Jayachandran from India. Legend actor Mr. Duraid Laham and great director Mr. Basil Alkhatib for the syrian film ‘Al Hakeem’ and many other creative awards too!! The farewell speech by Dr. Khalid where once again we shed all the identities, labels, surnames and even countries and we united under ‘cinema.’!! ♾️😍
The night was so electrified!! Colleagues have turned into friends and when you are connected on cinema, ohhh good lord I couldnt deal that!! It was actors, directors, producers, juries, volunteers, journalists, critics, writers, artists etc initially but then slowly it turned as ‘buddies’ And we spoke Arabic-omani, syrian, iraqi, English, French, African and finally it was all merged into one language, language of universe – Love!! And it is Oman, the place which taught you to dream, to fall in love again and again!! And Mussandam where you have the ‘venice effect’ !!
I am yet to accept that was the farewell night!!❤️🎊🎉
