Gugu Mbatha-Raw Instagram – As we mark the #16Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence, I’m reminded of my recent visit to DR Congo with @refugees. These days of activism are all about standing in solidarity with survivors and uniting to end violence against women and girls, which remains the most pervasive human rights violation around the world. 🧡 In DR Congo, I met women who were forced to flee their homes and had to endure horrible acts of sexual violence. Despite the horrors that they’ve been through, they welcomed me with such joy and warmth, and shared their stories with incredible courage. 🧡 Today, I remember these stories and the strength of each woman who is now rebuilding her life. Each one deserves the support services that UNHCR and its partners like the @PanziFoundation can provide with the necessary funding.
