I’ve been trying to figure out how to give my 2 sens towards making sense of this piece (see what I did there?) without revealing the all important piece/s of the jigsaw that would spoil it for others who haven’t been to see it.
TBH when I first saw the teaser poster all those months ago- I thought “oh okay, here we go… a Malaysian take on Eternal Sunshine of the spotless Mind…” (prev typo…)
Which would mean Imaginur would have to make the cut to be anywhere near my all time top 3 favourite film. But I go, to support the creators, the film makers, the players, people involved, the industry…
And truth be known, I always go into a film ready to suspend disbelief and allow myself to be immersed and go on the journey they want to take me on.
Within 10 minutes I thought, “okay, artsy lah… deliberate lines delivered deliberately… kenapa lembab? Kenapa blur sangat dia ni? What a loser…Tak per…ride it out…”
I swallowed my confusion, and went into the “Groundhog Day”, still suspending disbelief… “how or why did they break into a house!?” etc etc (IYKYK). Cont in comments | Posted on 08/Mar/2023 15:32:18
