As you can see from the period photos pinny’s and scarves wrapping the hair were very normal in the 1950’s for working women. Very sensible. They kept your hair and clothes clean when everyday life was more basic. No hot water on tap in many homes for example. Even with the generous stock at Cosprop we had to dig to find the perfect combination – but when you find it you all just ‘know!’
